“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, the providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.”

– W.H. Murray

Boldness, adventure, passion, enthusiasm, impulsiveness

Overview

There’s no faster knight than the knight of wands. He comes with a swiftness, sometimes to everyone else’s detriment. Not his though! He flies in, fucks everything up and flies out before you can even question what the red blur was? He comes and goes without any attachments. The only thing left in his wake is a trail of dust and his manic laughter.

Characteristics

Highly active, this knight is on a mission to get shit done. The faster it’s done, the faster they can do whatever they want. Full steam ahead, they are working on an objective before you even finish explaining it to them. This just speaks to their poor-planning and hasty nature. In doing things too quickly their attention to detail suffers, as they are chasing the feeling of accomplishment that it is done.  They make up for it in their self-driven highly motivated ways of handling things.

This card can indicate someone immigrating or moving. They plan in action, still trying to put together what they want and how they’re going to get it. If your objectives align with this knight they will be of great assistance on very short notice. Just don’t expect them to be there at 6pm on a random day in May, they’ll likely be off doing something more interesting forgetting all about it.

Meaning

Either you or someone else is embodying the characteristics of the Knight of wands.

Working too quickly and chaotically

Slow your roll cowboy, you’re underestimating the speed of the trajectory of the gun you’re jumping. A potential endeavor has you high, and eccentric in your actions.  Don’t act without thinking about it first, create a plan and consider the consequences. You are very sick of the life you’ve been leading and trying to light fire under the ass of something that will unfold faster than you can handle. Consider all the consequences and possible outcomes of what you’re about to do and calculate the risks.

Keep up or fall behind

Once started, you’ll need fast reflexes and fluid movements to make it through this moment. It is going to come inevitably, whether you are open to the idea of this change or not. Something has to give eventually, and resistance in the end is futile.

Invitation to an exciting event

This cards also comes up in the form of an invitation to a party or event. This could be an engagement, wedding, and other large celebrations.

The Knight of Wands Reversed

“My soul is impatient with itself, as with a bothersome child; its restlessness keeps growing and is forever the same.”

 (Unknown/Wuthering Heights).

Restlessness, impatient, frustration, chaotic energy

Meaning

Every meaning surrounding the Knight of Wands reversed can come down to the chaotic, and improper channeling of rampant energy. Imagine feeling like all your nerves are being hot-wired— you keep bouncing your knee, your mind is racing, you can’t sit still. That’s the embodiment of the knight of wands reversed within you or someone else.

Restlessness

There’s a thousand lightning bolts bottles up in your legs and you can’t sit still, but you also can’t focus. Everything you do is left half-undone, and you don’t seem to be making any progress with anything. Go blow off some steam, it’s a great time to start a fitness routine or simply go run as fast and long as you can so you can properly channel the rest of whatever nuclear energy you seem to be made of.

Impatient

The recipe says this will take 6 hours to cook, but you want it done in 2. That’s not going to cut it, cowboy. Turning the oven up to 500º to cut corners is going to do nothing but leave everything half-baked. While you wait, go find something else to occupy yourself with and the time will fly.

Frustration

This kind of frustration is why Kyle’s are known for their destruction of drywall. Something is not getting through properly and you are on a war path against everything and everyone inside of this place. Take a deep breath and look for other mediums to achieve your desired outcome. There’s really nothing else you can do but to keep trying.
