Then it does, it turns out perfectly, exactly as you wanted it to. Your soul has never soared to these heights. This moment, this life, is sweeter than any drug you’ve ever tasted. You are in love with right now.

Symbolism

The Sun illuminates the sky with blue purity, chasing away the gray sky. Four sunflowers rise to greet it, imitating its enlightening rays. On a white horse is a nude child with his arms out, one holding a long red flag, the other with an open palm. The child has a crown on its head with 6 circular red gems and a red feather reaching for the sun.

If a majority of the suit cups occupies a reading with The Sun: A love so enlightening, your soul is soaring. You can feel the universe meshing with your soul when you are near someone. The happiness you bring each other is the keystone to the strength you bring each other.

With wands overwhelming the reading: Your drive towards your objection will sling shot you to heights you never thought possible.

If Pentacles are omnipresent: Happiness and fulfilment will come to your career in the form of profit and recognition

If swords surround the spread: Mental strife is coming to clarity. The weight has been lifted in the revelation of the greatest reality you have the pleasure of experiencing.

The Sun Reversed

“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity.
– Joseph Addison

Delays and obstacles to reaching your apex

In the Reversed position, you can turn the meaning of The Sun upside down and inside out, or it can be perceived as something else. Reversed cards can be read a few different ways. If you want to know the source of the concept of why this card is defined the way it is, check out the article “Reading Reversals” in Chapter 6 of this knowledge base.

If you simply want to know the reason and not the method of deciphering, here are some possible ways to read the card in reversed.

Meaning

Regardless of its upright or reversed position, The Sun always has a level of positivity to offer the querent. Whether or not you accept the silver lining for what it is, is a different story. The only connotation of the reversed sun is that fruition might take some extra effort to clear the clouds.

Loss of Hope

At this time you maybe struggling to see the light of this situation, or do anything but maintain your pessimism. Perhaps this is so you don’t become disappointed by expectations, because of all the setbacks you’ve experienced to come to this point.

A change in perspective maybe necessary, as these setbacks are hindering your joy. This is amplified by the presence of The Devil, The Hanged man, or the Nine of Swords. If you think you’ll never be happy again, you’re probably right. Holding onto anxiety over the worst case scenario, instead of living in the moment will certainly stop you from seeing the Sun again.

Toxic Optimism

This can emerge one of two ways; either your overtly optimistic outlook is wearing on your peers or you are avoiding the reality of everything to stay in your delusions. The ideals you’ve established are feeding unrealistic expectations for the world, and you are beginning to lose yourself. The acknowledgment and integration of our shadows is necessary to be a complete person. Find your ground and take your head out of the clouds, not everything is sunshine and rainbows.

Creative Blocks

Artists block, writers block, creative blocks; all creative pursuits come upon a time when simply nothing can be produced. While this is frustrating, be patient. The Sun is slowly wearing away the morning fog, waiting to grace you with inspiration. This block is only temporary, this is not one of those eternities of being uninspired.

Conversely, you could be hiding your talents from the world. Your next inspiration could be as simple as receiving some recognition. Start to show off your craft and bring your gifts to light, and you’ll find a muse to strike lightning into your work.

Count your Blessings

Be mindful of the things you have to be grateful for, if you’re stuck in a mental slump. There are a plethora of positive things surrounding you. Even in the hardest times there are even small inconsequential things to be grateful for. Start a gratitude journal, and take a deep breath.

New Opportunities at work

There are great things coming for in the realm of your career. A raise in your wage, or your position is breaching the horizon. Keep diligent and focused, and this won’t pass you up.

Conversly this could a positive change in position in any realm of your life if any of the Aces are involved. If there are many Aces, it may seem like you are getting a brand new life that is a vast improvement from the one you’re living.

Work with what you have

It’s going to take a little extra cooperation and compromise to make fertile ground between you and a partner. Things aren’t perfect, but what is? If you want things to work, remember that every relationship requires wiggle room. Whether that doubles as breathing room, taking time to live your life independently of one another is crucial to a happy, functional relationship.

If The Hermit , upright or reversed it’s a good indicator that you’re avoiding introspection and alone time to your detriment.

If The Three of Cups appears in the reading reversed, you’re losing friends for the sake of your relationship. With the Hanged Man you’re sacrificing your social circle for your romantic relationship. Pulling back for love is always expecting among friends, but icing them out is never advised.

Respect yourself

If you’re looking for a relationship, the person who checks all the boxes may not be far from breaking down the doors of your heart. This does not mean take the first person who offers you their hand. Reflect on the qualities of your ideal partner and write them down. Now describe absolute deal breakers for you in a partner. Consider your dating history, and the qualities or characteristics that didn’t mesh well with your own. This will make sure you absolutely do not settle for less than you deserve and mistaken red flags for a carnival.
