Heart Break

The Three of Swords Deciphered

Eventually it all rains down like tears from heaven; this is one of the worst cards in the deck. Knowledge or enlightenment has come to you that has struck your glass heart with a sledge hammer. It all caught up to you finally, and you are left in the wake of disappointment and despair.

There’s not much more to say here. Its literal definition is heart break. The Truth-seeking missile was critical and opened your eyes to the cruelty of humanity. Reality cornered you, and left you beaten and in shambles.

Those vicious heathens got you when your back was turned. They were supposed to have your six, but they aimed for your 12. Even though the wounds are not on your skin, you can feel them in the arrhythmia of your heart. It tries to beat through the trauma.

Right now there is no doubt that you are in a deep depression, and feel sorrow in your core. There is a darkness rising in you, dark crimson and throbbing. This loss is completely unavoidable. If can’t change the ocean’s tides, you cannot change a humans mind

There will be some Trauma to work through but it will be for the better.

This can also say that you are taking something to heart that is trivial. It is best to figure out if this is an appropriate response and why it hurts so much.

The Three of Swords Reversed

As with most reversed cards, this can go one of two ways, it can negate the negativity of the card, or it can enhance it.

In the case of Negation, it says you have successfully navigated this darkness and are finding yourself healing and relief. You have forgiven the people who have cause you pain. Out of your stalemate, you are slowly learning to get out from under your dark cloud.

There may even be a resolution, reconciliation, and compromise in the situation. It will bring peace back to the relationship but won’t fix it. There will be damage from this that all parties will have to work on, lest they make each other miserable through reflecting their insecurities on one another.

On the enhancement side we see someone who is stuck in their rut to the point of sabotage. Instead of moving on, they refuse to see anything more than their darkness.

Misery, loving company so much is more than happy to keep you transfixed on the darkness of the world. They dance the stars before your eyes keeping you focused on the abyss, unrelenting in their grip on your soul. This is a hard grip to shake from.

A lack of closure and resolution could be the reason for your downward spiral. Try to see the entire situation from a third perspective. Look for the warning signs. Liberate yourself with the most logical justification you can create. Then bury it.
